    ABOUT THE OLD ENGLISH SHEEPDOG CLUB

    Welcome to the Old English Sheepdog Club of Denmark

    The Old English Sheepdog is a kind, warm hearted, social, intelligent and loving dog, and as the name applies originally used as a herding dog watching over the pack of sheep as well as other herd of animals.


    The breed originates from the continental cattle and herding dogs also aimed at watching over the livestock and although the Old English Sheepdog is still used as a herding dog few places in the world, this breed is today primarily a companion and family dog.


    We hope you will be inspired and fall in love with what we call ”The world’s most wonderful breed”.

     

    The Danish Old English Sheepdog Club was founded in 1960 and is working closely together with the Danish Kennel Klub ( DKK ) and within the DKK rules and regulations, with the purpose of preserving the Old English Sheepdog and to work for the knowledge of our breed, ensure a flow of substantial and informative breeding knowledge in order to preserve and/or improve the quality of our breed as per the FCI standard, which includes soundness, temperament, exterior and usage characteristics.

     

    Our Club has a board of 5 members elected for a period of 2 years. Our club also has a Health Committee, a Show Committee, an Obedience Committee, an editor who 6 times a year creates a club magazine, we have an activity group of 9 members creating various events across the entire country 12 months a year for our 170 members.
